The difference between aluminum sheet and stainless steel sheet

2022-08-26

Alloy aluminum sheet is to add various alloying elements (main alloying elements are copper, silicon, magnesium, zinc, manganese, and secondary alloying elements are nickel, iron, titanium, chromium, lithium, etc.) during the processing of aluminum plate to improve the mechanical properties of aluminum plate. performance and chemical indicators. Alloy aluminum sheet has some special properties that pure aluminum sheet does not have, and is widely used in special environments, such as ships, refrigerators, molds, aerospace equipment and so on.

The stainless steel sheet has a smooth surface, high plasticity, toughness and mechanical strength, and is resistant to corrosion by acids, alkaline gases, solutions and other media. It is an alloy steel that does not rust easily, but not absolutely rust-free. Stainless steel sheet refers to a steel plate that is resistant to corrosion by weak media such as atmosphere, steam and water, while acid-resistant steel sheet refers to a steel plate that is resistant to corrosion by chemically corrosive media such as acid, alkali, and salt.

Compared with stainless steel sheet, aluminum sheet with the same thickness are light in weight, good in plasticity, and suitable for processing, but the disadvantage is that aluminum alloys are not corrosion-resistant. Even if they are in the air for a long time, they will be corroded and cannot be used in high-humidity environments. And places where acids, alkalis, and salts may corrode. Stainless steel products have high hardness, high strength, high corrosion resistance and high temperature deformation resistance, and high-quality stainless steel products can be used in acid and alkali environments. But the price of stainless steel is much higher than the price of aluminum alloy.
